The following tutorial explains how to install and boot Ophcrack from a portable USB device. Since the Live CD version (running from a SLAX core) is already available, creating USB Ophcrack is similar to converting any other Live Linux CD to USB.

[list][li]Windows Computer (Windows XP is used here) [/li][li]512 MB or larger portable device (USB stick) [/li][li]Ophcrack Live CD and usboph.zip [/li][/list][b]Creating bootable USB Ophcrack:[/b]
[list=1][li]First, create a “New Directory” to house your work [/li][li][url=http://downloads.sourceforge.net/ophcrack/ophcrack-livecd-1.1.4.iso]Download[/url] [b]Ophcrack Live CD[/b] to the new directory [/li][li][url=http://www.pendrivelinux.com/downloads/usboph.zip]Download[/url] and extract [b]usboph.zip[/b] to the new directory [/li][li]Click [b]fixoph.bat[/b] and follow the onscreen instructions [/li][li]Copy all the files from the Ophcrack directory to your USB device [/li][li]From your USB device, click [b]makeboot.bat[/b] and follow the instructions to make the drive bootable [/li][li]Reboot your PC and set your BIOS boot menu to boot from the USB device [/li][/list]If all goes well, you should be booting from the USB stick into a mini SLAX environment. Ophcrack is launched automatically after boot.
