As many other developing nations in the world, the Internet has made a significant contribution to the quality of life in China. Nowadays 27% people have already adopted the Internet as the latest mass media and another 20% are planning to do so in a year or so. Many applications in different fields have been accepted respectively and expended in a wide range. In the near future, we hope to realize e-commerce, e-government and e-community through the Internet. However, there are a few security leaks in the network environment, such as wire tapping, identity theft, port scanning, and etc, but these Applications above in general need more security requires. As the result, A lot of security solutions are brought into the net, of which public key cryptography is brought to set up a PKI/CA based network trust architecture. To achieve such aims, Our company, Shaanxi digital certificate authority co., ltd, was found to serve as a regional CA in west China on October 11th, 2003.
What is CA? It is certificate authority, or trusty third party. Of course, Alice is the first party. Bob is the second party. We suppose they don’t trust each other, but they all trust Carro, Carro can act as the trusty third party. On the Internet Digital CA do this through digital certificate signatures based on the concept of PKI make it possible to create electronic identification. With the help of a certificate issued by a third Party, or CA, the identity of the sender of an electronic message can be ascertained. In short, the party needing to identify the sender of an electronic message can choose to rely, not on the sender himself, but instead on a third party certifying the sender’s identity. PKI digital signatures would solve the fundamental problem of lack of trust in cyberspace and provide a necessary infrastructure for e-commerce, e-government and e-community on the Internet.
Shaanxi CA follows international standard based digital certificate norm, in which is embedded independent property right owned cryptography algorithm, SSF-33 and has issued digital certificates up to a mount of 1500.We made a great progress in China’s regional PKI and have a wide potential market to be developed and many problems still need to be solved. At present, there have been more than 60 CA companies and it’s .hard to form an unified standard. Different understanding causes difficulties of cross certificate and mutual recognization. It‘s true in China, ”without certain actual strength, it is hard to be involved in CA competitions”. We must meet the need of certificate’s security used customs with the best services, the widest applications, the highest credits and the strongest reliabilities for survival. And we should reduce the independence on foreign countries, develop CA products with our own intellectual properties, se safe and reliable technologies and adopt strict and effective administration to ensure the credit.
It will be Coexistence of opportunities and challenges in the future development road of China’s CA. We are fully confident that the CA industry in China will certainly stride toward a bright future in the tide of the rapid development. It is said that A tree-structured online system comprising of poly-rooted CA centers has been in process and the draft of China's regulation on electronic signatures, which was approved by the State Council, China's cabinet, in March, is expected to be passed by the National People's Congress, China's top legislator, between August and October. The Advance in the network creates challenges and brings us opportunities. We must firmly grasp of these. Opportunities. We are planning to find the certificates’ application in the network services of Shaaxi Administrative Bureau for Industry and Commerce, Shaanxi Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, Shaanxi Bureau of Radio & Television, Shaanxi Public Security Bureau, Shaanxi State Administration Taxation Bureau, Shaanxi Local Taxation Bureau, Community Health, Western securities and etc.We do our best to finish the project.
